Dharma Kava Lounge in Largo, FL is looking for bartenders to join our team! We are located on 13328 66 Th St. Our ideal candidate is attentive, accountable, punctual, and reliable. This is a tipped position at a location with medium-to-high volume for most shifts. Even our "low-volume" shifts rake in decent tips.

As Largo's Original Kava Bar, with 11.5 years of awesome service and brewing under our belt, we're hoping to find great new team members who are ready to learn and grow with us!
We have also recently changed our hours, branding, and menu selections. We are now a full-service coffee shop, as well as a tea lounge. This means that previous barista and coffee shop experience will look even better on your resume!

There will be ample opportunity to make bonuses, as well as be paid for any additional effort you bring to the table! A prime example would be helping with social media/content creation.

During the interview process, as well as during training, we will emphasize accountability A LOT. This is our golden principle. All members of our team are held to the same standards regarding punctuality, time management, customer service, cleanliness, etc. We emphasize this not to scare anyone off, but rather to attract the right kind of applicants! We're a small team, so if you don't lead with accountability, not only do the customers suffer, but so does the rest of the team. Nobody should feel like they're pulling extra weight in an evenly-distributed workload environment--we're all in this together!

Our ideal candidate comes with some direct-service experience under their belt: bartenders, servers, and even baristas! We're looking for upbeat, positive people who aren't soft-spoken and thrive in busy social environments! All candidates must be 21+, have reliable transportation, and need to demonstrate they can safely lift a 5-gallon bucket filled with liquid.
Starting pay is $11/hr base + tips. Tip averages on "slow" shifts average ~$85-100. To do the math, your adjusted gross hourly pay for an 8/hr day at this rate+tips averages to ~$21.60/hr.
We are currently hiring for Monday-Thursday night (4:30P-1:30A), Saturday-Sunday mornings (8:15A-4:30P).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of exotic teas, kava, coffee, and more.
• Take and keep track of orders, as well as managing your own cash till.
• Interact with and form rapport with patrons, ensuring a positive and low-pressure experience that makes for great return business.
• Assess patrons needs and ensure they're met in a timely, enthusiastic manner.
• Mix and prepare ingredients.
• Plan, commit to memory, and present bar menu.
• Check customer's identification and confirm they meet minimum requirements for certain products.
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience through entertaining conversation, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
• Wash and store all drinkware and drink-making equipment.
• Both closing and opening procedures require some level of custodial tasks, with associated checklists.

Qualifications

• Direct-service experience preferred (bartenders/servers/etc).
• Reliable transportation.
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean
• Ability to be punctual
• Ability to be accountable for your time and work.
• Ability to manage time wisely, as most of our team work solo-shifts.
