Waev Inc. is an electric mobility OEM founded in 2021 to manufacture, distribute, market, and support the GEM, Taylor-Dunn and Tiger brands. GEM was the first commercially-produced, street-legal low-speed vehicle in the United States. GEMs shuttle people and goods across city centers, residential communities, government campuses, colleges and universities, and other micro-environments. Founded in 1949, Taylor-Dunn burden carriers, personnel carriers, and stockchasers have been trusted solutions in a broad range of commercial environments and provide premium reliability, safety features, and all-electric efficiency for industrial grade applications. Tiger heavy-duty tow tractors have been towing cargo, baggage, parcel, and other equipment in ground support applications since 1981. Waev's headquarters and factory are located in Anaheim, California.

JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Compliance & EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) compliance programs, coordinating internal audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across Waev's manufacturing operations. This role also provides administrative and project support to the Director of Operations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage recurring compliance requirements while identifying opportunities to improve operational processes in a fast-paced OEM environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • EHS Compliance & Administration: Maintain OSHA recordkeeping, SDS management, injury and illness logs, and required safety postings • Ensure all compliance documentation is accurate, up to date, and audit-ready at all times • Prepare and submit required regulatory filings and reports • Assist with new hire safety orientation and maintain training records
  • Audit & Safety Coordination: Coordinate internal safety audits and facility walkthroughs • Document findings, assign corrective actions, and track completion • Serve as a point of contact for day-to-day EHS-related questions from the production floor • Escalate safety or compliance concerns as appropriate
  • Continuous Improvement: • Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives (5S, visual management, SOP development) • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, standardization, and efficiency • Partner with cross-functional teams to execute improvement projects
  • Operations Support: Provide administrative and project support to the Director of Operations (reporting, scheduling, meeting coordination, project tracking) • Support tracking of key operational initiatives and follow-up on action items

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT

  • Success in this role will be measured by maintaining audit-ready compliance programs with no missed regulatory requirements • Additional performance indicators include timely completion of internal audits, closure of corrective actions, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives • Effectiveness in supporting operational priorities and improving process consistency will also be evaluated

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Business, Operations, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in operations, safety, compliance, or administrative roles required
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or OEM environments preferred

KNOWLEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, especially Excel and document management
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage recurring compliance tasks independently
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply regulatory or policy documentation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to escalate issues and present information to leadership
  • Basic understanding of continuous improvement concepts (5S, Lean, Kaizen) preferred
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
