About The Role

The Accountant t will work directly under the Director of Finance to support with bookkeeping, accounting, tax, auditing and insurance tasks. Everyday will be different in this role as you will need to be ready for day to day tasks that can change on a dime. You will work on payables, accruals, balance sheets, bank accounts, audits, and insurance filing and compliance. You need to be flexible, hard working, organized, and detail oriented.

This position will give you a significant amount of insight into the real estate investment sector.  There is opportunity for advancement and increased responsibility with exceptional performance.

Responsibilities

  • Help to ensure that financial statement and loan reporting covenants are met on a timely basis
  • Monthly accounting for about 20 multi-family apartment home buildings 
  • Manage accounts payable for all properties
  • Assist in year-end audit preparation and reporting
  • Help to ensure that all invoices are paid and accurately tracked
  • Help to ensure that overall finances are in-compliance with local, state, federal regulations
  • Answer vendor inquires and troubleshoot vendor issues
  • Support with tax prep and audit
  • Support with insurance policies, renewals, and claims

Minimum Requirements + Skills

  • 1-2 years experience in accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax emphasizing real estate partnerships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, and/or an equivalent degree
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Google suite, Entrata, or ability to learn these systems quickly
  • Strong work ethic and eagerness to produce high quality results
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of professionalism standards and strong character
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Follows through on all action items
