Description
We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and experienced paralegal to play an important role on our legal team. You'll draft legal documents such as affidavits, prepare briefs, conduct legal research for trial preparation, and keep case files and other important information neatly organized and easily accessible. Responsibilities
• Ensure all estate planning documents are drafted with excellence and professionalism.
• File new LLCs, draft business documents, and obtain tax ID numbers.
• Work with our drafting software.
• Prepare deeds to fund trusts.
• Draft powers of attorney, health care directives, and work closely with the attorney.
• Track important dates and time limits for matters and notify relevant stakeholders as needed.
• Deliver best-in-class service to clients.
• Work cheerfully with colleagues in a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Train and be trained on all firm systems, processes, and subject matter.
• Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including correspondence such as interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
• Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
• Help lawyers prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, assisting with client meetings, filing motions, conducting research on legal articles, and organizing and coordinating witnesses
• Coordinate law office activity, including the drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
• Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues
Qualifications
• Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
• Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate's degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor's degree preferred
• Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills
• 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
