You are:
An experienced Database Administrator Specialist
The Work:

The Database Administrator (DBA) handles multifunctional database projects. You will administer development/ test databases. You will be primarily responsible for performing many related database functions across one or more teams. This may include: designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery and configuration management. You are able to install database management systems (DBMS); related software tools, and have working knowledge of operating systems. You should be also able to submit input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration and patching of SQL server in clustered environments.

  • Backup and restore of the databases.

  • Performance tuning and optimization.

  • Install database management systems (DBMS); related software tools, and has a working knowledge of operating systems.

  • Should be able for on-call 24/7 support of the databases.

  • Able to submit input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance.

Here's what you need:

  • Must have 2 to 3 years overall SQL Server DBA experience supporting large-scale production systems, or equivalent.

  • experience with MS SQL Server Administration for on-premise

  • Atleast 2+ years SQL HA Clustering, Availability Groups, Mirroring, Log Shipping

  • 2-3 years of experience with SQL programming and performance tuning

  • Experience in writing T-SQL scripts and development of views, stored procedures, UDFs.

  • 2-3 years of experience in Backup/Recovery

  • 2-3 years of experience with shell scripting (Windows)

  • Good experience building new system environments

  • This role will require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. Preferred location: as in the Local ATC office location: Montreal or Mississauga

  • Must have eligibility for Reliability Clearance.

  • English is required for this position as this role will regularly interact with stakeholders across Canada, US and other countries across our Global footprint where English is the common language. Due to the significant high volume of interactions with these English-speaking stakeholders, which is inherent to this position, it is not possible to reorganize the company's activities to avoid this requirement.

  • Relevant DB certification

  • Cloud experience (AWS, Oracle, Azure, Google)

  • Experience with other DB platforms including open source and No-SQL DB (Oracle, SQL, DB2, Sybase, MYSQL, Postgres, MongoDB, etc.)
