POSITION SUMMARY

Prescient is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Deep & Dark Web Intelligence Team to leverage both open-source and proprietary tools to collect, assess, and parse data from open and closed Deep and Dark Web sources. Senior Associates then use that data in support of Dark Web threat assessments, post-breach investigations, and other discrete Dark Web intelligence matters.

Final title decisions will be made based on years of experience and candidate expertise.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Senior Associates are responsible for:

  • Conducting in-depth Dark Web investigations and assessments for corporate and individual subjects.
  • Monitoring the Deep and Dark Web using a variety of in-house and third-party tools.
  • Identifying new Dark Web sources for collection and analysis.
  • Engaging with threat actors to obtain non-publicly posted datasets.
  • Producing both in-depth and summary/trend reports on findings that can be read by clients regardless of their level of technical expertise.
  • Assisting with online threat attribution and other OSINT-focused investigations.
  • Assisting with Python programming, if qualified to do so.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-5 years of relevant public or private sector experience.
  • Experience with OSINT-focused investigations.
  • Experience operating undercover on social media platforms, Dark Web markets, forums, and messaging platforms.
  • Experience navigating Dark Web sources, managing online personas, and using dark web collection tools to uncover actionable intelligence.
  • Understanding of cyber concepts needed to accurately provide context for findings.
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at once with limited supervision.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Proficiency in a foreign language, especially in Chinese, Arabic, Russian, or Spanish.
