Job Overview

CVS Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to support its seasonal Vaccination Initiative. This patient-facing role is responsible for administering a wide range of immunizations, including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other CDC-recommended vaccines, while providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced retail healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate is passionate about preventive healthcare, possesses excellent clinical judgment, and thrives in a collaborative team setting. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.
 

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer vaccines including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other recommended immunizations in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Perform patient assessments and review medical histories prior to vaccine administration.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions following immunization and provide appropriate intervention when necessary.
  • Accurately document vaccinations and maintain complete patient records.
  • Educate patients regarding vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and post-vaccination care.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Collaborate effectively with pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and store leadership.
  • Maintain compliance with infection prevention, safety standards, and organizational policies.
  • Support daily clinic operations and contribute to achieving vaccination goals.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work varying schedules based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois (or applicable working state).
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization administration.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Strong medication administration and clinical assessment skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient education abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a retail/community healthcare environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Must not appear on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
  • Verifiable High School Diploma or GED (required).
