The Lodge at Truitt Homestead is looking for cooks who are passionate about creating memorable dining experiences while exceeding guest expectations.  We are seeking a skilled and dependable cook with experience in banquet, buffet, and large scale food production.  The ideal candidate is experienced in preparing  high-quality meals, producing soups and sauces from scratch, batch cooking and assisting with menu planning and special event execution. Description of responsibilities:

  • Prepare food items utilizing standardized recipes

  • Determine food and supplies needed 

  • Coordinate meal production with service hours

  • Monitor food items for temperature, taste, and quality

  • Ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of food items per the menu cycle and standardized recipes

  • Oversee proper food storage procedures

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties

  • Maintain food safety equipment records and food safety temperature records

  • Practice all safety and loss prevention measures

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required experience:

  • High school diploma/GED

  • One (1) year job related experience that includes food preparation, full-line menu items, and therapeutic diets

  • Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred

  • ServeSafe certification is preferred but not required

Required skills:
