Summary of Position
The Accountant is responsible for a wide variety of accounting responsibilities including budgeting, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and expense reimbursement review, entering journal entries, and mastery of the accounting system (Sage Intacct).
Essential Job Requirements
- Maintains general ledger
- Posts journal entries
- Reviews accounts payable to ensure accurate account coding
- Reviews and reconciles accounts receivable
- Reconciles balance sheet accounts
- Assists with special projects requiring data compilation and analysis
- Manages and maintains accounting system
- Researches and investigates opportunities to better utilize the accounting system
- Reconciles bank accounts
- Contract invoicing and reporting compliance
- Assists with budget changes throughout the year
- Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department
- Regular and timely attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred or equivalent experience
Required Experience
- General ledger knowledge required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Teams
- 0-3 years general accounting experience preferred
- Sage/Intacct experience a plus
