Job description

STAFF PATHOLOGIST VA BOSTON HEALTHCARE SYSTEM WEST ROXBURY, MA A Recruitment or Relocation Incentive
may be available for highly qualified candidates. The Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at VA Boston Healthcare System (VABHS), a collaborative group of 10 experienced pathologists, is currently recruiting for a full-time staff pathologist who is Board Certified in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, and Cytopathology. Outpatient phlebotomy stations are in West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Brockton, and Bedford, MA. The pathologist will provide Surgical Pathology and Cytopathology, case review, report to and attend principal tumor boards, and participate in teaching, research, and clinical activities co-sponsored by academic affiliates Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston University School of Medicine, and Harvard Medical School. There is opportunity for an academic appointment at one of the affiliates commensurate with experience. The service performs more than 3,000,000 tests per year and is accredited by the College of American Pathologists, the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Anatomic Pathology Division accesses approximately 10,000 surgical pathology specimens and 7,000 cytology specimens per year. In addition, the Service provides specialized reference laboratory tests to seven other sites within New England's Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 1), including Immunohistochemistry lab, Flow Cytometry lab, Cytopathology, Dermatopathology, and Hematopathology. The service also provides Quality Management, Informatics, and Telepathology support for the entire VISN 1 lab. Candidates must possess a full, active and unrestricted medical license in any US state or territory. US Citizenship is required.
