Job description

DESCRIPTION The OCFA Technical Rescue Truck (TRT) Program is currently recruiting Firefighters (probationary and non-probationary) for the position of part-time Technical Rescue Truck Technician. The TRT program is looking to expand the list of fully qualified part-time Technical Rescue Truck Technicians to support TRT staffing needs. The position requires participation in rigorous physical and mentally challenging field operations, encompassing multiple disciplines of technical rescue.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Part-time Technical Rescue Truck Technicians will be selected through an application review and interview process. Successful candidates will be placed on eligibility list that will be valid for one year. Candidate's individual qualifications will determine the need for additional training.

If selected, a candidate will be provided the additional TRT training courses by the OCFA if necessary. Once the TRT qualification is met, the candidate will be eligible for backfill opportunities on the technical rescue trucks as well as a potential of an administrative assignment based on department needs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This part-time Technical Rescue Truck Technician recruitment is open to current OCFA career Operations Section Firefighters only.

To be eligible, Probationary Firefighters may apply and participate in the selection process but MUST be off probation to be placed into a part-time position.
