Job description

Job Title: VR Systems Support Specialist
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Typical Activities

  • Perform routine maintenance checks on VR workstations, HMDs, tracking, and AV systems in VR arenas.
  • Test software and firmware updates before deploying approved updates to production VR systems.
  • Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, resolve when possible, and coordinate escalations with internal teams, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Support users and VR events by gathering issue details, following documented processes, and preparing systems for design reviews and engineering sessions.
  • Maintain documentation for maintenance, system status, procedures, troubleshooting, configurations, cable standards, deployments, and team/supplier meetings.

WHAT WILL THE PERSON BE WORKING ON
Responsible for maintaining reliable VR/MR lab operations by performing preventative system checks, validating software and firmware updates, and deploying approved changes across production VR environments. The technician will also support VR events and end users, collaborate with the VR team and suppliers, and maintain clear documentation for system status, procedures, troubleshooting, and ongoing support activities.


WANTS
Experience with any of the following is preferred:

  • 1+ years of experience supporting VR/AR/MR hardware and software in an enterprise environment
  • Experience with high-end VR headsets (Varjo XR-4, Apple Vision Pro,  Vive Focus Vision, Meta Quest 3, or equivalent)
  • Experience with VR tracking systems (SteamVR Lighthouse, ART optical tracking, or similar)
  • Knowledge of VR accessories configuration (tracking pucks, haptic gloves, motion controllers)
  • Software Platforms: Autodesk VRED, IC.IDO, Nvidia CloudXR, AV System Integration, Microsoft Teams Room, Python Scripting, Experience in automotive, aerospace, or manufacturing design visualization environments
