Position OverviewGENERAL PURPOSE

The role of the Warehouse Packaging Operator will rotate when needed between the onsite warehouse, off site warehouse, and small packaging operations. The operator will ensure tasks are performed within all EHS, quality, and corporate guidelines on a right-first-time basis. The warehouse packaging operator is also responsible for providing coverage on the packaging line when needed to packaging inks into small containers and label for sale. The warehouse packaging operator will properly manage and store incoming materials, intermediate and finished product to support pigment dispersion, ink, and dye manufacturing and sales.

Job Description

KEY RESULT AREAS/DELIVERABLES

Primary warehouse role will be the ability to load and off-load materials to and from various size trucks & containers, move material throughout onsite and offsite warehouses.

  • Receiving, checking, and storing the following types of materials in various warehouse areas: raw material, finished goods, intermediate, containers, and supplies. Includes both bulk and small package deliveries.
  • Load FTL/LTL or FCL/LCL containers as provided in Standard Operating Procedures. This will include labeling, shrink-wrap, and other common loading practices.
  • Bundle small orders as required for small package carriers (FEDEX, UPS, DHL, etc.) and fill out appropriate paperwork.
  • Use SAP to record inventory going in and out and store in proper place.
  • Be familiar with cycle counts and investigating discrepancies.
  • Capability of generating shipping paperwork as needed from SAP, such as BOL, pick lists and other required SAP work.
  • Uses all checklists necessary for incoming and outgoing shipment to ensure cleanliness and integrity of products.
  • Work with Purchasing to get all necessary paperwork for incoming materials, including COA.
  • Pick and stage batches for use in production.

When packaging line requires coverage; This includes material handling, operating pumps, filtering, and packaging to customer requirements. Other responsibilities that are a smaller portion of the position are relabeling containers, waste consolidation, sampling, and repacking other materials.

  • Operate equipment and systems for packaging of high purity/high quality inks. The position is responsible for filling inks into a variety of small package types 10L / 20L bladders for end customer use. A strong emphasis on quality and concern for standards is required.
  • Position is required to meet daily productivity targets and meet stringent quality standards of our customers.
  • The packaging technician must possess a high degree of awareness to pro-actively address issues and solve problems to avoid potentially costly errors in terms of product loss and quality failures.
  • The filling operation is done in a cleanroom environment and appropriate protocol must be strictly followed.
  • Technicians are responsible for properly boxing, labeling, palletizing and shrink wrapping per specific batch logs.
  • There is a strong emphasis on right first time to achieve customer satisfaction with the finished product.

It is expected that this position will play a significant role in supporting departmental Continuous Improvement, Lean and 5S activities.

Other duties will involve following of S&OP's, equipment troubleshooting, and ensuring consumption of materials is accurate.

  • Use Standard Operating Procedures and checklists to perform work.
  • Must be trained and respect all GMP Practices.
  • Must be a licensed driver and be able to drive a box truck.
  • Be capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Be capable of adhering to the utmost important safety procedures in all day- to-day activities.

  • Products produced in this business are high value materials.
  • The Warehouse Packaging Operator has direct, front-line responsibility for packaging products and material movements around the site.
  • The Warehouse Packaging Operator must work in a manner which is efficient, safe, and environmentally sound and meets all quality requirements.
  • Compliance with all Corporate Governance Guidelines within personal activities.
  • Overall compliance with Corporate and Government EHS Regulations with pro-active leadership of FFIC's EHS program.

Qualifications Skills, Knowledge/Education/Experience

Required

  • Certified on Electric Forklifts (sit down and walk behind)
  • Attention to detail and ability to focus.
  • General knowledge of material handling and chemical storage
  • Math aptitude
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Box truck experience

Desired

  • Clean room experience
  • Batch Manufacturing or Packaging experience and Equipment knowledge with respect to pumps, filters, and piping.
  • CDL certification
  • HAZWOPER training or previous experience
  • Yard Dog experience for jockeying trailers
