Job Description Summary

Reams Asset Management ("Reams"), an affiliate of Carillon Tower Advisers, is a fixed income investment management firm located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Since its establishment in 1981, Reams has grown to manage over $23 billion in a variety of fixed income strategies for a diverse group of institutional clients, including Fortune 500 corporations, large public pension funds, Taft-Hartley plans, health care organizations, and a variety of universities, foundations and endowments. Reams employs 40 individuals with a mission to provide the highest quality investment management expertise and unmatched client service in all product areas over the long-term.
We currently have an opportunity in our Systems Department for an Associate Developer who will be responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing and maintaining web applications that support and enhance our business. This position will also support and transition legacy desktop applications and be involved in process improvement projects. Additional responsibilities and projects will be assigned commensurate with demonstrated competency of previous assignments.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Writes effective, concise, and scalable code.
Will embrace data visualization and other similar innovations.
Has work experience with Linux and scripting environments.
Will work primarily on the software environment, but assist with the hardware environment as well.
Will respond to critical incidents outside of regular work hours.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; remains current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.


Skills:

Identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities; compare data from different sources to draw conclusions.
Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
Use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions; recommend or take action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences.

Education /Experience and Skills:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and one (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience or combination of education, training and experience.
May occasionally work a non-standard shift including nights and/or weekends and/or have on-call responsibilities.

Requirements:

Familiarity with Linux and at least one programming language
Familiarity with code base compilation and debugging
Experience in creating, testing, verifying, and automating scripts
Experience with web programming with HTML/HTML5 or web development GUI
Familiarity with relational database concepts.

Angular/AngularJS
Report writing software
Web back-end technologies (e.g. Java, Spring)
