Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) - Temporary
Job Description
Cape Fox Concentric Methods, LLC is seeking a Registered Nurse ICU to provide full-time care to our deserving military at Eglin AFB, FL at the 96th Med Group campus.
The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $44.42. This is comprised of a base hourly rate of $39.33 plus $5.09 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations. This rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, for eligible positions we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.
Requirements: At least two (2) years of experience with one (1) year in an intensive care area of four or more beds. One of the years' experience must have occurred within the last three years.
Responsibilities:

  • Perform critical care duties, to include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating age-specific nursing care across all ages.
  • Administer medications (monitor/mix, administer titrate), wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Accomplish dysrhythmia recognition, arterial blood gas interpretation, hemodynamic pressure interpretation, assist with synchronized cardioversion, perform emergency defibrillation (with knowledgeable use of defibrillation machine), administer thrombolytic agents, perform the postoperative recovery and discharge within established criteria.
  • Perform nursing services in arterial punctures, draw blood from invasive monitoring lines, assist with temporary pacemaker insertion, apply noninvasive external pacemaker, and obtain hemodynamic variables.
  • Interpret lab values, care for patients with Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, mechanical ventilators, and give inhalation therapy treatments with knowledge of medications utilized.
  • Perform physical exam and health histories.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and initiate life saving measures in the absence of a physician.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Treat and receive patients, prepare and maintain records, pull and file patient medical records, perform basic secretarial skills, handle telephone calls and written correspondence, serve as a liaison between physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other medical staff.
  • Basic computer skills to enter patient data and extract patient information using all DOD government medical sites (i.e. Military Health System (MHS) Electronic Health Record (EHR) GENESIS.
  • Panama Schedule. RN will pull (3) 12 hour shifts one week and (4) the next, however schedules may vary to accommodate demand. Monday thru Sunday to include weekends and holidays. The schedule will be four (4) months on days and four (4) months on nights.

Job Requirements
  • A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited school of nursing (National League of Nursing). At a minimum a diploma in Nursing from a professional nursing program approved by the legally designated state accrediting agency at the time the program was completed.
  • Associates Degree with three years' experience with 1 in ICU.
  • Maintain current certification in an American Heart Association (AHA), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support ((PALS). Web-based classes do not meet the MTF standards.
  • At least two (2) years of experience with one (1) year in an intensive care area of four or more beds. One of the years' experience must have occurred within the last three years
  • Shall have and maintain a current, valid, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse (with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions) in any U.S. jurisdiction within the United States, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the US Virgin Islands.
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
