Job description

Sr Engineers, Software is located in Overland Park, KS will improve and protect the software and systems behind all of T-Mobile's IT services, including management of scalability, availability, latency, performance, security, and capacity.

Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyze systems requirements, existing business processes and information systems and deploy and manage applications on AWS, Azure, and GCP using serverless and containerized solutions.
  • Design, Development, Maintenance and Support of Varicent ICM Models to calculate commissions for TFB (T-Mobile for Business).
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI to streamline software delivery and enhance operational efficiency, Integrate DevSecOps practices into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Utilize Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm to containerize applications and manage workloads, enabling scalable and reliable deployments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates for consistent and scalable environments.
  • Collaborate with Business and lead IT Scrum teams on the successful delivery of product enhancements and support.
  • Integrate AI models for predictive scaling, anomaly detection, and automated system analysis to improve performance and efficiency.

Minimum requirements:
Experience and education requirements:
PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Computer and Information Technology, Computer Science, or related and 3 years of relevant work experience.
ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer and Information Technology, Computer Science, or related and 5 years of relevant work experience.
Skills requirements: Requires experience in each of the following:
1. Deploying and managing applications on Cloud Platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and design serverless solutions. Containerizing applications using Docker and managing containerized workloads with Kubernetes, Helm, and Serverless Architecture (Multi Cloud) to package and deploy software applications;
2. Operate compensation Tools including Varicent ICM, Callidus Truecomp and SPACE Computation Engine;
3. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with GitOps workflow automation, featuring the ability to implement a system where infrastructure changes are automatically deployed via Git operations rather than manual intervention. This includes expertise in multi-environment promotion workflows, drift detection with automatic reconciliation, and policy-based security validation within the CI/CD pipeline;
4. Integrating AI models into DevOps workflows for automated system analysis, predictive scaling, and anomaly detection to enhance operational efficiency;
5. Utilize Database Technologies including Oracle Pl/SQL, MS SQL, MySql, Postgres, Teradata, Data Warehousing solutions and Engage in Data Analytics and ETL operations using Alteryx, Informatica; and
6. Cloud infrastructure management including load balancing, auto scaling, DNS configuration, SSL certificate handling(NCLM) and network architecture for high availability and performance.
