Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our NRES Project Delivery Project Manager, you will serve as a vital leader within our National Real Estate department, overseeing the end-to-end design and construction lifecycle for critical healthcare capital projects. You will act as the primary liaison between construction teams, facility operations, and leadership to ensure all projects align with CommonSpirit Health’s quality, safety, and budgetary standards. By utilizing your expertise in project delivery methods and regulatory compliance, you will drive operational excellence and help build the physical environment necessary to support our mission of delivering high-quality healthcare.

Every day you will manage the complexities of large-scale construction initiatives, from developing project scopes, schedules, and financial projections to monitoring site activities for adherence to building codes and specifications. You will facilitate clear, consistent communication across all project stakeholders, proactively managing risks, change orders, and submittals to prevent delays. Whether you are negotiating vendor contracts or coordinating with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities, your work will directly ensure that our healthcare facilities are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standards.

To be successful in this role, you will bring a deep understanding of healthcare capital project management and the ability to navigate complex construction environments. You possess:

  • A proven ability to own the design and construction process from inception to project closeout while meeting strict scope, schedule, and budgetary goals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building codes, life safety standards, and local/state/federal regulations, with a history of maintaining strong, productive relationships with approving authorities.
  • The ability to serve as a central communication hub, effectively aligning diverse groups including external consultants, on-site construction teams, and internal facility stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in managing project financial projections, tracking capital expenditures, and negotiating vendor fees in alignment with organizational policies.
  • A data-driven approach to risk management, with the ability to identify potential contingencies early and implement cost-effective, timely solutions.

This position is field-based, requiring daily oversight of projects throughout the Utah market. Ideal candidates will reside in the Salt Lake City area to enure consistent on-site coverage between Layton and Lehi.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two plus (2+) years of experience in leading project management design and construction projects.
  • Experience in facilitating project design and construction related meetings and presentations.
  • Experience in developing conceptual project scope, schedules and budgets.
  • Experience with construction processes, building and life safety codes.
  • Demonstrated success in delivery of major healthcare capital projects.

Preferred

  • Knowledge in health facility preconstruction services.
  • Knowledge in equipment planning processes.
  • Lean Process Improvement.
