Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, wiring, and commissioning of low-voltage DC and shore power AC electrical systems in custom van and truck camper conversions. Your precision and systems thinking will play a vital role in ensuring every build's electrical system is safe, reliable, and meets the highest standards. As a key member of our production team, you will collaborate closely with cabinet, plumbing, and final assembly technicians to deliver fully integrated, functional, and adventure-ready interiors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, wire, and commission complete 12V/24V DC and 120V AC shore power electrical systems, including lithium (LiFePO4) battery banks, inverter/chargers, DC-DC chargers, solar arrays, and charge controllers.
- Route, secure, and terminate wiring harnesses throughout vehicle chassis and cabinetry, ensuring proper strain relief, chafe protection, and adherence to ABYC/RVIA best practices.
- Install and wire 12V appliances and accessories including LED lighting, roof fans, refrigerators, water pumps, diesel heaters (Webasto/Espar), induction cooktops, and entertainment systems.
- Mount and terminate distribution components including fuse panels, busbars, breakers, battery disconnects, and shore power inlets.
- Install and configure system monitoring and control hardware such as Victron components (Cerbo GX, MultiPlus, SmartSolar, BMV), switch panels, and touchscreen controls.
- Install roof-mounted solar panels, cable glands, and roof penetrations with proper sealing.
- Install connectivity hardware including cellular boosters, WiFi routers, and Starlink systems.
- Test, troubleshoot, and commission all electrical subsystems using multimeters, clamp meters, and diagnostic tools; document system settings and provide clean handoff to QC and service.
- Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and build specifications to execute installs accurately and flag design issues early.
- Label circuits and wire runs clearly and maintain as-built documentation for every build.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and accurately, including crimpers, heat guns, drills, rotary tools, and cutting equipment.
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including PPE requirements, battery handling procedures, and lockout/tagout for energized systems.
- Work closely with cabinet, plumbing, upholstery, and final assembly teams to coordinate penetrations, routing, and install sequencing to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in electrical, automotive, marine, or RV systems preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in low-voltage DC electrical work RV, marine, solar, automotive, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of 12V/24V DC systems, lithium battery banks, inverter/chargers, and solar charging systems.
- Comfortable reading wiring diagrams and schematics, and sizing wire, fuses, and breakers based on load.
- Proficiency with crimping, soldering, and heat-shrink termination; familiarity with marine-grade components and best practices.
- Experience with Victron, Battle Born, Lithionics, or similar RV/marine electrical platforms is a strong plus.
- ABYC, RVTI, or equivalent certification is a plus but not required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in tight spaces, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive movements.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce clean, serviceable, documented work.
- Capable of systematically troubleshooting and resolving electrical issues at the bench or in the vehicle.
Logistics: Onsite Monday Thursday 4/10's, with occasional evenings or weekends to support launches and special events.
