Job description

The Senior Solution Consultant on the Technical team advances sales pursuits and helps drive revenue attainment by passionately evangelizing Workiva's cutting-edge data management capabilities and the broad set of technologies powering the Workiva platform. The Senior Solution Consultant clearly demonstrates and explains how Workiva solutions work, ensuring their success and adoption through tailored demonstrations, technical and architecture presentations, and communication of value-based messaging about the Workiva platform. A critical part of the job is to ensure an understanding of Workiva's role, placement, and footprint in an organization's technology landscape.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as a key member of the cross-functional sales team on each opportunity, including actively participating in account planning and strategy, driving the technical agenda from initial engagement through deal closure

  • Execute the technical discovery process with customers to identify areas where Workiva solutions align to address customer needs

  • Prepare and deliver dynamic, tailored, value-driven technical demos and presentations of the Workiva platform including examples, solutions, prototypes, and proofs of concept to demonstrate viability and value of Workiva solutions

  • Work across various business lines at our customers including technical teams in IT, architecture, platform, and integration teams; and business functions in accounting, legal, finance, sustainability, audit, risk, FP&A, and financial reporting

  • Collaborate with team members to share findings and observations, learn from team members' experiences, and celebrate successes

  • Consistently and proactively share experiences and observations with Workiva's product management, engineering, product marketing, sales leadership, and executive teams to foster cross-functional alignment and innovation

  • Engage with customers and partners alike to ensure success and satisfaction with Workiva

  • Demonstrate expertise across multiple domain areas, developing working knowledge of industries, departments, and use cases where Workiva can have an impact

  • Actively pursue innovation and creative problem-solving using the Workiva platform

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends-such as advancements in cloud computing, data analytics, AI/ML, and cybersecurity-that may influence or enhance Workiva solutions

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 6 years of technical customer-facing experience, ideally in presales, implementation consulting, or training/enablement

  • Experience in programming with languages such as Python, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Java, VB.net

  • Experience with data management, database design, and analysis, with expertise in SQL, data modeling, multidimensional concepts (e.g., Essbase, TM1), relational theory, data transformation (e.g., Alteryx), and advanced Excel

  • Experience in designing and understanding enterprise data architecture to be able to identify where Workiva can extend an organization's data strategy

  • Hands-on experience with various AI tools and an understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) application

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with BI platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Cognos, Qlik, Tableau, QuickSight)

  • Hands-on experience with performance management systems (e.g., OneStream, Hyperion. Planful, Tagetik)

  • Hands-on experience with ERPs (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with data integration and data integration software (e.g., Alteryx, FiveTran, MuleSoft)

  • Knowledge of corporate financial reporting, accounting, consolidation, budgeting and planning, dashboards, or analytics

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and IT security considerations

  • Ability to compare API capabilities and write clean, maintainable code to consume and interact with these APIs

  • Ability to lead a conversation and collect information about an organization's technical goals, needs, challenges, and vision

  • Intellectual curiosity and motivation to always learn, research, and grow

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills

  • Understanding of modern cloud technologies and SaaS

  • Understanding of software design patterns

Travel Requirement & Working Conditions

  • Up to 40% travel for customer visits, conferences, and company events

How You'll Be Rewarded

On Target Earnings (OTE) range in the US: 156,000.00 - 253,000.00 USD Annual

Eligible for commission based on sales performance
