Job description
Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking an AMS Analyst who will serve as the Subject Matter Expert for all transactions related to Advanced Metering Infrastructure. The role involves monitoring AMI exceptions, ensuring compliance with market transaction requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
• Continually monitors and resolves AMI exceptions throughout the transaction life cycle
• Ensures Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is performed for all exceptions resolved, and use this as input into fixes and future enhancements
• Develops and tracks a standard set of metrics to ensure that TNMP¿s AMI remains accurate and efficient
• Serves as the SME for critical system components that support AMI transactions
• Prepares business requirements and provide thought-leadership on internal development efforts related to AMI transactions and integration within TNMP¿s back-office systems
• Liaises with TNMP vendors (notably Itron) to ensure ongoing integration support is optimized for transaction processing
• Participates in market working groups related to AMI transactions and stays current on new and changing requirements
• Develops and maintains use cases and test scripts to ensure transaction functionality is adequately tested prior to releasing to production
• Serves as the key approver for all system changes related to AMI transaction functionality
• Responds to various data requests, produces metric reports, and provides ad hoc data extracts
• Participates in a variety of moderately advanced, concurrent, and variable duration operational and AMI projects
• Guarantees the integrity of transactional and billing data and provides analytical support for AMI synchronization; provides billing analysis to correct or adjust due to transactional errors or disputes
• Monitors and resolves AMI Marketrak issues
• Represents Company before ERCOT and the Public Utility Commission of Texas
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience working with Advanced Metering Systems (AMS/AMI) or utility metering operations
• Strong background in data analysis, troubleshooting, and system performance monitoring
• Prior experience in the energy or utility industry (electric distribution preferred)
• Proficiency with Excel or data tools for reporting, trending, and issue resolution
• Ability to collaborate across teams (operations, customer service, IT) to resolve meter or data issues
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting or Business from a four-year college or university, with three to five years AMS utility experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
• Ability to communicate professionally and accurately with all market participants and stakeholders of varying operational and technical backgrounds
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time
• Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required
• Manual dexterity is required
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
