Job description

The Commercial Truck Sales Representative at Great Lakes Truck Centers is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, engaging, and developing relationships with new and existing customers. This role focuses on understanding client transportation needs and delivering customized commercial truck solutions. The representative will leverage product knowledge, sales expertise, and relationship-building skills to meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the dealership’s overall success.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to increase commercial truck sales and market share.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, cold calling, and referrals.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to recommend appropriate commercial vehicle solutions tailored to customer operations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Freightliner products, specifications, financing options, and industry trends.
  • Build and sustain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure customer satisfaction, retention, and repeat business.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (finance, service, parts) to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Prepare and present compelling sales proposals and product demonstrations.
  • Negotiate pricing, financing, and contract terms to successfully close deals.
  • Track, analyze, and report sales performance metrics and pipeline activity.
  • Represent Great Lakes Truck Centers at trade shows, industry events, and community functions.

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial truck sales or a similar sales role.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Experience in developing and maintaining client relationships within the automotive industry.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of commercial trucks and the automotive industry.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and identify business opportunities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
