Associate Scientist, In vivo Pharmacology, InflammationWhat you will do

Let's do this. Let's change the world. In this vital role you will work in a highly dynamic in vivo pharmacology team executing in vivo preclinical disease models and in vitro assays in the vivarium and lab supporting pipeline programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on in vivo work primarily mice, possibly rats in the vivarium daily.
  • Provide technical support for studies, dosing, sample/tissue collection, health checks, study setup and take down.
  • Work side-by-side with Scientists/Senior Scientists to execute and help design experiments.
  • Run concurrent studies, stay organized and detail-oriented to meet study timelines
  • Participate in weekend/evening dosing rotations as needed
  • Support in vitro assays as required
  • Communicate results to immediate team and follow established protocols and safety procedures
  • Work in a flexible team-oriented environment. Weekend and evening work may be required.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree and 1 year of Immunology or related experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 3 years of Immunology or related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree in Immunology or related disciplines, or B.S. degree with commensurate scientific / drug discovery experience and track record of scientific excellence and productivity.
  • Strong understanding of Immunology and Inflammation biology and principles.
  • Willingness and curiosity to learn and explore new areas of research.
  • Significant experience designing and executing concurrent in vivo preclinical inflammation and autoimmune disease models. Experience with colitis (DSS, CD45RBhi T cell transfer, IL-10 KO), lupus (NZB/W, MRL-lpr, Imiquimod), and arthritis (CIA, CAIA), GvHD models preferred. Experience in Asthma, COPD, HS, PBC a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with in vivo techniques including dosing route of administration (i.v., i.p., p.o., i.n., i.t., r.o., i.d., s.c.), bleeds (r.o., cheek, tail), necropsy (organ collection (intestine/colon, lung, lymphnodes, spleen, liver, kidney, skin), cardiac bleed, lung BAL collection).
  • Hands-on experience in cellular, biochemical, histological, and molecular biology assay techniques (i.e. ELISA, MSD, quantitative RT-PCR, BCA protein measurements) preferred. Hands-on experience with multicolor flow cytometry including Spectral flow approaches and Immune cell populations is essential.
  • Computer literacy, especially proficiency with GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, accurate & timely record keeping and data analysis are essential.
  • Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement.
  • Demonstrated experience in pharmacology and in vivo models of inflammation/Immunology.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
