Job description

About Ammobia
Ammobia is pioneering the first fundamental breakthrough in ammonia production since 1909. Our modular Haber-Bosch 2.0 technology operates at low pressures and high single-pass conversions, delivering 2x lower capital costs; making ammonia affordable from any hydrogen source, across scale for any use case. Backed by strategic investors including Shell Ventures, Air Liquide, Chevron, MOL, and by the US Dep. of Energy, we are building the essential infrastructure for fuel, fertilizer and the future of energy.
About the role
Ammobia is hiring a Finance & Ops Lead to drive our Series A, the financing of our Industrial Demonstration and first commercial plants, working hand-in-hand with the founders and leadership team. This is a high-impact, hands-on role reporting directly to the CEO with significant room to grow. You will be at the center of how Ammobia funds its growth, across venture equity, grants, venture debt, and project finance, owning the financial strategy, data room, and support our FP&A. You are comfortable wearing many hats, moving fast, and getting the details right in a lean environment.
What you will do
Co-lead and execute Ammobia's financing strategy across equity and non-dilutive funding.        Lead our alternative and non-dilutive financing workstreams from initiation to close, across grants, venture debt, project-level debt / equity, and blended-finance instruments.        Own fundraising finance: build and maintain the financial model, create and manage the data room, and drive investor and lender due diligence alongside the founders.        Support the founders and commercial team with internal ops. Help maintain the commercial pipeline, tracking deals, partners, and offtake conversations.        Support FP&A: Coordinate with accounting, tax and legal; build and maintain budgets, track spend and cash across teams and workstreams and turn the numbers into reporting that guides decisions.        Prepare materials and present to the board and investors.
What we are looking for
Finance and capital-raising experience is essential. Hands-on experience with capital raising and/or structuring, across some mix of equity, grants, venture debt, and project finance.        4+ years across corporate finance and/or project or structured finance: project or infrastructure finance, energy or climate investing, consulting, or finance at a fast-growing startup.        Hands-on modeling ability: you can build, stress-test, and defend a complex financial model.        Comfortable wearing many hats and owning end-to-end workstreams in fast-moving environments.        Passion for climate tech and/or heavy industry (chemicals, fertilizers, energy, heavy-duty transport, manufacturing).        Able to work onsite in San Francisco.
Nice to have
Project finance, infrastructure, or energy-sector finance experience        Experience with grants and government funding (US and International) and with blended-finance.        Prior experience at an early-stage hardware or climate-tech startup.        Experience delivering first-of-a-kind projects or in-the-field commercial pilots.        Experience setting up finance systems, tools, or processes.        CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent.
Benefits include:
Competitive equity grants        100% of premiums paid for healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance        401K        Gym benefit        Regular team social events        Paid time off, including closure between Christmas and New Years
$100,000 - $200,000 a year

  • Type: Full-time.
  • Location: San Francisco, CA. Onsite, with some hybrid flexibility and occasional business travel.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary and equity, commensurate with experience.
  • Start: July - August.
