Associate Litigation Attorney (2-5 Plus Years Experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Associate Attorney with 2 to 5 or more years of litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense, to join our growing litigation team. This position is best suited for a mid-level attorney who can step into an active caseload, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of assignments while continuing to sharpen trial skills through collaboration and mentorship from seasoned litigators.
From day one, associates are treated as true members of the litigation team. You will be actively involved in all phases of litigation, from pre-suit evaluation and strategy through discovery, law and motion, depositions, trial preparation, and court appearances, with increasing responsibility and autonomy based on performance and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and memoranda

  • Analyze cases and assist in developing litigation strategy
  • Participate in trial preparation and trial
  • Attend and assist with mediations, (commensurate with experience)
  • Work directly with partners and senior attorneys on complex matters
Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar (or pending admission)
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and genuine desire to grow as a trial lawyer
