Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails has been a fixture on Central Avenue since 2016. We're an all-day European-inspired café and bar — coffee in the morning, cocktails at night, and a warm, unhurried atmosphere in between. Our cocktail program is rooted in tradition, refined by craft, and built to stand alongside the best in any city. The Bar Lead is the person responsible for keeping it that way.

The Bar Lead is the creative and technical owner of Intermezzo's cocktail program. You'll develop the menu, write the specs, run the batches, train the team, and hold the standard behind the bar every shift. You're an experienced bartender who is ready to step into a leadership role — someone with strong opinions about what makes a great drink and the discipline to execute it the same way every time.

You'll work alongside the Café Lead, who owns the coffee program, and report to the General Manager, who owns the operation. Your lane is clearly defined and genuinely yours.

• Lead cocktail R&D — develop specs, recipes, batches, and prep methods that define Intermezzo's bar program
• Drive seasonal menu development and updates in collaboration with the GM
• Train and mentor bar staff on technique, flavor, consistency, and the Intermezzo standard
• Run shifts with full ownership — you're the standard-bearer when you're behind the bar
• Open and close the bar with operational thoroughness
• Act as GM in their absence when needed
• Support brand activations by developing drink features, prepping recipes, and maintaining quality during service
• Monitor drink quality on every shift and address inconsistencies in real time
• Reduce waste and improve efficiency through better prep and specs

• Proven experience in a craft cocktail environment — you know the work from the inside
• A passion for development — you have ideas, you know how to spec them, and you can bring a team along
• Leadership presence — you've mentored staff before, or you're clearly ready to
• Someone who takes ownership seriously and doesn't need to be managed
• An appreciation for Intermezzo's all-day identity — the cocktail program lives in context here, not in isolation
• Must be 21 or older with full-time availability including weekends

• $15+/hour (commensurate with experience) + tips

You'll have real creative authority in a nearly decade-old program that still has room to grow. The identity is established, the guests are loyal, and the standard is high. This is a role for someone who wants to build on something great — not start from scratch.
