Education Qualifications:
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree or equivalent Required

Primary Responsibilities:
Provide daily supervision by managing staff and administering training materials for both regular education and special needs education drivers and monitors, including new driver/monitor training, administration of the Annual Driver Proficiency Test (ADPT), training on CPR and First Aid, Return-to-Work and Accident Follow-up, and remedial veteran training.
- Assist in the design, development, and supervision of initial New School Bus Manager/Monitor Training programs, ADPT, staff development, remedial training, Accident Follow-up Training, CPR and First Aid, and Return-to-Work Programs for regular education and special needs education.
- Assist with making changes and updates to the Transportation Handbook.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with state Bus Manager/Monitor Training curriculum and research industry publications/websites to assure the most current information, laws, and best practices are taught.
- Ensure compliance with the American Heart Association standards, curriculum, and guidelines.
- Assist in assigning, tracking, and counseling trainees and certifying release to work or termination.
- Provide support and training for bus manager and ADPT trainees.
- Assist in the supervision and evaluation of trainee job performance, including classroom, hands-on, and specialized equipment.
- Commence initial training for trainees in all phases of assigned jobs as assigned.
- Maintain employee files for trainees.
- Monitor training time and report mid-day absenteeism to appropriate supervisor.
- Provide in-service/staff development for continuous quality improvement.
- Schedule and provide Commercial Driver's License (CDL) skills tests for all trainees, division employees, coaches, teachers, and other district employees as mandated by Georgia Department of Driver Services (GA DDS).
- Certify successful completion of all required parts of training and testing.
- Ensure compliance with GA DDS Commercial Motor Vehicle Examiners' annual contracts.
- Schedule and submit testing schedules and weekly test scores to GA DDS for approval/records.
- Assist in documenting and maintaining Accident Investigation Group (AIG) procedures and processes.
- Provide leadership for AIG as directed.
- Supervise accident information management as directed.
- Respond to bus accident scenes as directed.
- Interview bus managers regarding accident details as directed.
- Supervise customized accident follow-up training programs based on accident causes/contributing factors as directed.
- Provide leadership, supervision, and evaluation of current ADPT trainers and scheduling method and process of completion of ADPT for all veteran district bus managers as directed.
- Update driving skills exercises based on previous accident statistics as needed.
- Assess needs and submit orders to supervisor for needed equipment for training courses.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of work processes file and supporting documentation for office positions.
- Verify processes are in compliance with laws, policies, and procedures with appropriate personnel.
- Work with the Human Resources and Talent Management Division to create and maintain area job descriptions.
- Write and submit information for training curriculums, newsletters, or other local and industry publications.
- Research and provide information pertaining to updates to laws, policies, best practices, and procedures.
- Assist in the development of the curriculum for GA DOE Training Units.
- Develop the assessments for the annual Bus Manager and Monitor of the Year competition, including scheduling dates, times, and locations.
- Provide an annual vehicle skills competition for veteran bus managers/monitors.
- Work with the Human Resources and Talent Management Division to create and maintain written exams.
- Assist with the supervision of the district's annual Safety Road-E-O Competition.
- Provide support and assistance to Georgia Pupil Transportation Safety Competition Foundation (GaPTSCF) in organizing state competitions.
- Support GaPTSCF in organizing state competition.
- Assist supervisor with the interview process to fill openings for part-time assignments and other positions as directed.
- Ensure the highest degree of customer service is provided.
- Communicate with all parties in a businesslike, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Represent the office professionally in all aspects of communication.
- Help cultivate a responsive and customer-centered climate.
- Seek ways to be responsive to the needs of staff.
