Job description

We are currently looking for a Patient Care Coordinator to join our team for an outpatient mental and behavioral office for a full-time position in CA, willing to work Hybrid.

We are currently looking for an experienced Patient Care Coordinator who will be responsible for all aspects of patient care coordination and administrative tasks. A professional demeanor with the ability to interact with patients in a positive environment is necessary.

You will be required to provide support with the daily activities of a medical office in the new patient department, including but not limited to new patient appointment scheduling, registration, insurance verifications, patient referrals, telephone coverage, and the ability to communicate with patients, providers, and staff members.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities of Patient Care Coordinator:

  • Communicate with patients about their status and condition through emails, phone, and face-to-face conversations.
  • Managing patient accounts with contact information, insurance, and financial information in a confidential manner.
  • Document care provided, meeting standards for chart reviews.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Explain administrative procedures to patients
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and patient privacy
  • Follow established treatment and office procedures
  • Interact regularly with patients and complete additional office administrative tasks when time provides
  • Complies with organizational, departmental, state/federal guidelines & all regulatory agency policies and procedures.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid insurance verification knowledge and the ability to communicate with patients about their financial responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal communication skills to communicate with patients and the healthcare team.
  • People skills to connect emotionally with patients and healthcare personnel.
  • Must be attentive and tactful.
  • Ability to utilize/access computer and electronic medical records (EMR), DrChrono system to document patient charts.
  • Perform other duties as required for patient care and efficient business functioning.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience

A minimum of Two (2) years of experience in a healthcare and/or Behavioral Health setting is required.


Education

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree from an accredited program, ideally in psychology and/or sociology.
