Summary:

The Advanced Technical Support Specialist assists in the execution, documentation, and troubleshooting of laboratory techniques including PCR, immunoassays, and high-throughput screening in support of diagnostics and medical countermeasure development. Provides high-level technical assistance in support of complex laboratory procedures across a range of diagnostic and research platforms.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct advanced laboratory assays with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain detailed records and logs for regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in troubleshooting instrument and assay issues.
  • Support sample preparation and biospecimen management.
  • Participate in SOP development and lab audits.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong foundation in molecular and immunological assays.
  • Familiarity with sample tracking and laboratory information systems.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and biosafety procedures.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in laboratory sciences or life sciences.
  • Minimum 4+ years in a biomedical or diagnostic laboratory setting.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance eligibility, with no access to classified information, is required.
  • Enroll in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), if required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACTIVE SECRET is preferred
  • Associate degree with additional experience accepted.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $34.00 to $36.00 hourly.
