Job description

Newark Day Nursery & Children’s Center is looking for caring, energetic, and dependable Before & After School Teachers to join our team! If you love working with school-age children and enjoy creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment, we’d love to meet you. 
 
*This position is for the 2026-2027 school year with an end of August start date.*

Before School Shift: 7:00-8:15am
After School Shift: 2:30-5:30pm

Additional Hours are available during school breaks and half days. 

What You’ll Do: 
-        Welcome children each morning and help them start their day positively.
-        Supervise and engage the children before and after school.
-        Lead fun activities, games, arts & crafts, homework support, and outdoor play. 
-        Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment. 
-        Communicate effectively with families and fellow team members. 
-        Follow all licensing regulations and center policies. 
We’re Looking for Someone Who:
-        Loves working with children ages 5-14. 
-        Is dependable, patient, and enthusiastic. 
-        Has excellent communication and teamwork skills. 
-        Can create a positive and engaging atmosphere.
-        Meets the Delaware Office of Childcare Licensing requirements.
