POSITION SUMMARY: Provide support and assistance to the Distribution Center by coordinating the workflow within an assigned department and ensuring that merchandise is processed and shipped in a safe, timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner. Direct accountability and responsibility for evaluating daily operational requirements. Ensure the appropriate scheduling of resources to meet productivity, accuracy, safety and service goals by appropriately staffing, prioritizing work, assigning tasks and scheduling personnel. Provide direct, daily supervision and feedback to Supervisors and Associates. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of Supervisor and Associate positions as well as the physical aspects listed below. Fosters teamwork, cross-functional communication, personal growth and accountability.

INTERACTION:

Reports to Logistics Operations Manager.

Interaction with other leaders and associates in the department.

Interaction with other individuals within the Distribution Center and Business Partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and maintain a positive work environment where you provide first level support and follow up for Supervisor and second level support for Associate needs.

Responsible for all production activities and, in conjunction with Supervisors and/or Operations Manager, determine operational needs.

Reporting daily production results related to the area of responsibility.

Mastering Key Performance Indicators calculations.

Administer company policies and practices, and ensure compliance. As needed, administer company established discipline procedures for policy violations.

Ensuring resources are allocated to meet production goals.

Ensure that new and existing associates receive effective training and cross training to meet performance expectations.

Effectively communicate information to associates in the absence of the Supervisor.

Assess and evaluate associates' effectiveness within role. Provide direct, daily supervision of Supervisors and Associates.

Responsible for associate development and building a bench of talent to support needs of the business.

Lead daily activities to meet productivity, accuracy and service goals by appropriately staffing, prioritizing work, assigning tasks and scheduling personnel.

Responsible for performance management to include but not limited to annual review process, probationary review process and follow up for all developmental items listed on reviews.

Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and achieve short and long-term performance goals.

Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Identify processing problems; notify and work with the Supervisors and support areas as needed.

Be a 'Subject Matter Expert' (SME) on your direct area of responsibility.

Responsible for maintaining a clean/safe work environment.

Maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information.

May be required to perform other processing functions and/or duties based on business needs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises Supervisors on a daily basis through activities including (but not restricted to) hiring, motivating, delegating, promoting, counseling and coaching, performance appraisals and pay-rate reviews; scheduling and termination.

Direct line oversight of hourly associates in the assigned department of the Distribution Center.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. necessary to handle/move cartons of merchandise.

Standing on feet 80% of day.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.

At least 2 years of experience in operations leadership preferred.

Proven leadership skills and experience in employee relations.

Critical thinking skills.

Multidisciplinary experience (i.e. operations, logistics, retail, supply chain, transportation, manufacturing and distribution) is a plus.

Bilingual (English/Spanish, English/Haitian Creole) is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate logically and clearly in a group or individual setting.

Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point.

Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements.

Self-directed, multi-tasking, hands on, and action oriented with the ability to perform in high pressure and dynamic situations.

Goal oriented and customer focused.

Ability to make decisions based on the complete Company perspective.
