Safety Manager - Mechanical Contractor

Title: Safety Manager - Mechanical Contractor (Construction Safety Background Required)
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 + Bonus

We're a mechanical contractor that has been operating for the past 40 years in the greater Phoenix area with a team that includes several hundred employees. We support a wide range of mechanical construction and service work, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and other complex mechanical systems for commercial, industrial, institutional, and public sector clients. Our projects span active construction sites, long term service contracts, and field environments where safety practices are essential to how we operate. We are seeking a Safety Manager who will oversee field safety operations, strengthen our safety programs, and ensure consistent compliance across all active project sites.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead safety efforts across construction and mechanical service projects, ensuring all field activities meet regulatory and internal safety standards
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits to verify compliance and drive corrective actions
  • Manage high risk work programs including confined space, fall protection, hot work, and equipment operation, ensuring proper permits and controls are in place
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and onboarding instruction for field crews and subcontractors

What You Need for This Position

  • Hands-on safety experience in construction, mechanical contracting, industrial environments, or similar high risk field operations
  • OSHA 500 & 510 Certifications Required
  • Experience conducting inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations
  • Ability to coach field teams, communicate clearly, and influence safe work behaviors
  • OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, or similar credentials preferred; HAZWOPER a plus
