Job description

The Maintenance Lead assigns work tasks to mechanics, assist Maintenance Supervisor with scheduling and monitoring workloads. Trains less experienced employees as required.

  • Install, operates, maintains, checks, and trouble-shoots all types of A/C and D/C electrical equipment. Install, trouble-shoot, and repair solid state and electronic equipment as well as mechanical equipment.
  • Uses safe working practices and always reports/repairs any hazard conditions.
  • Inspects machines, takes any required test, and completed “all” reports and paperwork as required
  • Perform PM and repair work in accordance with A.I.B. standards
  • Diagnoses and employs proper procedure of troubleshooting to determine when parts need replacement and when repairs are necessary.
  • Dismantles, repairs, and re-assembles gearboxes, fans, conveyors, blowers, compressors, pump, valve, and mechanical equipment when directed.
  • Dismantles, repairs, and re-assembles electrical motors, relays, timers, and allied electrical equipment.
  • Installs and repairs electrical conduit, cables, piping, tubing, controls, and grounding as directed.
  • Operates mobile lift truck and hoisting in the performance of maintenance work. Possess knowledge of simple rigging when necessary for equipment moving and relocation.
  • Help maintain spare parts inventory for plant.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent required. 6 years of experience in Maintenance in a manufacturing plant required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred. Previous leadership experience strongly preferred. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal electric codes
  • Certified for PLC programming e.g., Allen Bradley or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience installing, programming, and troubleshooting the following:
    • All types of AC and DC electrical and mechanical equipment.
    • Electrical conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls, and grounding.
  • Able to disassemble, repair and reassemble gear boxes, fans conveyors, blowers, compressors, pumps, valves, furnaces, drives and all allied mechanical equipment related to electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing oven combustion and safety devices.
  • Possesses working knowledge of hydraulic, compressed air systems and be able to read complex diagrams and troubleshoot these systems.
  • Experience Installing and repairing pneumatic conduit, cables, piping, and tubing, including all necessary connections, controls, and grounding.
  • Possess working knowledge of the following equipment: MIG/TIG/ARC welding equipment. Gas & Plasma cutting equipment.
