Automotive Photographer
Pay Rate: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
Location: Des Plaines, IL

As an Automotive Photographer, you will capture high-quality images of vehicles for marketing materials, online listings, and advertising campaigns. This role involves setting up photo shoots, staging vehicles, and using photography equipment to produce visually appealing images that showcase each vehicle's features and condition. The Automotive Photographer serves as a key representative of our customers and must have a customer-focused personality.
Essential Responsibilities
Auto Photography (60%)
  • Photo Shoot Preparation:
    • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to schedule photo shoots for new inventory.
    • Inspect vehicles for cleanliness and ensure proper staging.
  • Photography:
    • Use professional-grade cameras and lighting equipment to capture high-resolution images from multiple angles.
    • Pay attention to composition, lighting, and framing to highlight key features.
    • Capture brief "walk-around" videos of vehicles.
  • Image Editing:
    • Process and retouch photos using editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom) to enhance quality and meet branding standards.
    • Upload images to company systems for marketing and online listings.

Quality Control & Service Excellence (40%)
  • Review images for accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain organized photo inventory with proper labeling.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven photography experience; automotive photography preferred.
  • Proficiency in photography principles, composition, lighting, and editing techniques.
  • Skilled in photo editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of automotive terminology is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Physical stamina to kneel, bend, squat, and lift up to 45 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for camera handling and editing tasks.

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
The starting compensation is expected to be:
$18.00-$19.00/ Hour
