Job description

Summary
Specializes in providing international customer and logistics services by demonstrating success in order and shipment execution while adhering to implemented supply chain policy and procedures. This role specializes in the processing of international orders by supporting the front end (customer set up, order set up and order receipt) processing, then by supporting the back end (shipment set up, shipping, documentation, final and post delivery) processing, all while aiming to meet customer needs and supply chain performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
  • Attends team meetings and organizational initiatives as necessary.
  • Communicates regularly with team members and management to inform on international service operations activities as well as helps identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Interact with multiple departments to ensure all requirements for inventory, quality, and regulatory concerns are met.
  • Lead and train team members in relevant processing updates and execution as they relate to international services.
  • Set clear direction and organize work daily, weekly and monthly.
  • Responsible for soliciting/receiving customer orders and then processing orders through information systems. Resolves problems with shipments including service delays and freight claims.
  • Specializes and is accountable for supporting outcomes of international services and quality in the area.
  • Maintain order management discrepancies and communications as it relates to orders and shipments while facilitating the process to enhance efficiency.
  • Supports customer, freight and product price upkeep and maintenance.
  • Ensures and provides quality service to customers through on-time, clear communication, closure follow-up, order follow-ups and dispatch confirmations.
  • Initiate required action for responding to customer service requests for order changes, including the maintenance of order/customer information files and communicate changes to the appropriate personnel/departments
  • Receive, process, and verify the accuracy of customer purchase orders
  • Drives results with various logistics vendors to ensure timely process flows including but not limited to ensuring resolution of any order or shipping related issues.
  • Identify and communicate current or future transportation issues, as well as recovery plans
  • Plan and route transportation of goods via air, ocean, and ground.
  • Supports implementation, maintenance, and service levels of carrier performance.
  • Responsible for generating, obtaining and providing various required export documents, including securing steamship line bookings, submitting and validating customs filings, bills of lading, free trade agreements, and all other international support documents as needed.
  • Maintain sales and international shipments records and prepare reports.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Develop subject matter expert knowledge and experience on identified processes and subjects within the international supply chain.
  • Stays current on supply chain and international services concepts, markets, and solutions.
  • Adheres to processes to meet KPI targets relating to international order and shipment services.
  • Support special projects when needed or as assigned by the management team

Typical Education
  • Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field, or 2 years equivalent experience in supply chain.

Relevant Experience
  • Familiar with international logistics and compliance, including HTS, duties and tariffs, and INCOTERMS
  • Experience in logistics and transportation, including industry terminology.
  • Competent computer literacy across MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and ERPs such as JDE, SAP, or other prefered.
  • Experience in dealing with transportation and warehouse operations.
