Job description
This role requires up to 10% travel and is designated as a Mission Essential position under DFARS 252.237-7023.
- Multi-disciplined network engineer with experience maintaining and fixing wired, wireless, and mobile broadband solutions in response to network faults, errors, incidents, and problems.
- Provides touch labor for all network devices.
- Oversees monitoring of network assets per SLAs.
- Performs break/fix and maintenance activities.
- Monitors network dashboards, analyzing problems, troubleshooting escalated incidents, coordinating, and reporting all operational information concerning the enterprise network infrastructure.
- Provides subject matter expertise for LAN, WAN, firewalls, and other network technologies. Investigates and diagnoses incidents to restore failed network services as quickly as possible.
- Leads root cause analysis and suggests resolutions for network infrastructure problems. Installs and supports remote access platforms such as VPN, Terminal Services, and Citrix.
- Has a fundamental understanding of network engineering concepts and adapts to emerging technologies as they are introduced to the environment. Knowledge of network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Experience with Cisco command line interface and configuration.
- Troubleshoots complex problems to closure.
- Assesses and implements Change Requests as needed in accordance with the Change Management process.
- Hands-on technical position that provides Tier 2 technical expertise. Performs site surveys, configuration and engineering, installation planning, and documentation services for the customer as they relate to all network services.
- Experience working with wireless technologies, VPNs, IPSs, WAN Accelerators, and associated technologies.
