Job description

The responsibilities of this position include assisting attorneys in the Legal Department with all types of legal issues concerning the bank, including but not limited to litigation matters, document preparation, document production, corresponding and interaction with attorneys, judges, and other professionals.


  • Ability to analyze legal questions/issues from both internal and external sources with the assistance of attorneys within the department and formulate proper responses.
  • Work closely and assist attorneys in all legal matters within the department.
  • Assist with phones when necessary, directing incoming issues (via phone and email) to Attorneys within the legal department.
  • Associates are expected to perform all additional duties as assigned.

  • Associate's degree in general studies
    • OR
  • High school diploma or GED and 2 years’ work experience in legal or related fields.
  • Basic understanding of internal banking procedures, etc.
  • Basic understanding of banking law, estate and guardianship matters, real estate law, trust law, corporate governance and bankruptcy law.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Intermediate level experience using Microsoft Word, Adobe and Excel.
  • Ability to work with attorneys, judges, and other professionals in a fast paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Experience using a multi-line phone system.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:  Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse requiring hand and wrist manipulation, while viewing computer screens.
