Bilingual (Spanish/English) 29-Hour Part-Time Benefited InventHQ Makerspace Associate

The Library, Arts, History and CSU Extension department has an opening for a bilingual (Spanish/English) 29-hour part-time benefited inventHQ Makerspace Associate. We are seeking a high performing, innovative, and team-focused individual who has a passion for learning, creating, and collaborating.

This position works 29 hours per week Tuesday through Saturday: Tu/Th 12:30 - 7:30 p.m.; Fr/Sa 8:45 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. Some additional evening hours may be required. The hiring range is $24.47 - $33.11/hour. Excellent benefits; click the benefits header for details.

Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties:

In this position you will help children and adults use makerspace tools, equipment and software during drop-in public Open Hours. You will greet new patrons and give them a tour of the space, chat with them about projects they would like to make, help them safely use tools, and connect them to learning resources. Outside of drop-in Open Hours, you may help with machine maintenance, staffing programs and preparing materials for them, working with volunteers, editing and testing tutorials and performing other administrative duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university - required
  • Experience: 1 year experience required in public library work or other related customer facing experience - required
  • Demonstrated skill/knowledge with a variety of makerspace tools and machinery (such as laser cutters, 3D printers, electronic cutting machines, sublimation printers, and/or hobby electronics) - required
  • Experience working with children and experience teaching complex technology - preferred

Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience. Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual skills in Spanish/English required for this assignment; Native Spanish-speaking preferred. New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: oral board, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry.
