RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support estimating teams through the collaborative and optimal selection of equipment, vehicle & marine assets for the defined project scope, while providing alternative equipment solutions, means, and methods.
  • Create and maintain a master listing of equipment Ownership and Operating costs and leverage this economic foundation throughout the support of estimating teams.
  • Additional costs related to equipment transportation, mobilization, and demobilization should also be understood and considered when evaluating an optimum fleet solution.
  • Through a close partnership with estimating teams, develop Rent vs. Own analysis and, where applicable, Buy-Salvage economics in support of a bid-day equipment strategy. Recommendations should provide an equipment solution that is the safest, most productive and most economical for the company.
  • Partner with estimating teams to efficiently integrate HCSS-based equipment needs into a resource-loaded equipment schedule within the Walsh Equipment Management Tool (EMT).
  • Supports the research of equipment brands, specifications, prices, service levels and operating costs.
  • Remain current with industry developments in areas such as Tier 4 emissions, grade controls, telematics, hybrid-technologies, etc.
  • Partner with Asset Management team to remain current on relevant machine pricing, residual values, rental rates and/or operating costs that are necessary to support estimating teams.
  • Manage hourly mechanic's timesheets for accuracy and proper coding.
  • Manage Repair Authorizations and estimate scope of work per mechanic's inspections.
  • Responsible for conducting weekly shop safety inspections to ensure the safety of shop mechanics, conduct weekly tool box talks, REAP's, conduct and maintain daily THA's.
  • Manage process of quality repairs by maintaining the Outbound Inspection Program.
  • Manage shop tool inventories. Purchase or repair of shop tools - replace broken mechanics tools.
  • Inventory and maintain appropriate quantities of consumable shop supplies and parts.
  • Assist managing the repair of components sent from shop to outside vendors.
  • Collaborate in weekly Resource Allocation Planning for future repair scheduling.
  • Special projects as assigned by equipment management staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of work experience inequipment purchasing, repairs or asset/fleet management
  • Bachelor's degreeor technical
  • Experience with construction software is preferred
  • Demonstrated history of managing and prioritizing multiple projects
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong follow up
  • Ability to establish relationships
  • Self-motivated
  • Critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Salary range: $79,000 - $112,000 annually
