Position Overview
Digestive Disease Associates of Central Florida is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Wesley Chapel outpatient gastroenterology clinic. This daytime, Monday–Friday role offers 8-hour shifts, paid time off, and the opportunity to provide high-quality specialty care in a collaborative setting.

The Gastroenterology APP will care for new and established patients with digestive health concerns, including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, pancreatic disorders, constipation, diarrhea, and GI bleeding. This role requires sound clinical judgment, strong communication, timely follow-up, and close collaboration with supervising gastroenterologists.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct comprehensive new patient consultations and follow-up visits for a broad range of gastrointestinal conditions, including GERD, IBS, IBD, liver disease, pancreatic disorders, constipation, diarrhea, and GI bleeding.

· Obtain detailed histories, perform physical examinations, review diagnostic information, and develop evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising gastroenterologists.

· Order, review, and interpret laboratory testing, imaging, pathology reports, and endoscopic procedure findings to guide ongoing patient management.

· Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate, and manage medication therapies within scope of practice, including biologics, immunosuppressive therapies, liver disease medications, and other GI treatments.

· Provide patient and family education on gastrointestinal conditions, treatment plans, dietary modifications, medication management, prevention, and lifestyle interventions.

· Perform pre-procedural evaluations and post-procedural follow-up for patients undergoing EGD, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and other GI procedures.

· Collaborate with gastroenterologists, primary care providers, surgeons, dietitians, infusion centers, and ancillary staff to coordinate referrals, testing, follow-up, and continuity of care.

· Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation while supporting quality improvement initiatives, patient education efforts, and a positive clinic environment.

Qualifications

· Current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license, or eligibility for licensure, in Florida.

· Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

· Gastroenterology, hepatology, internal medicine, family medicine, or specialty clinic experience preferred.

· Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, documentation, and patient-centered care skills.
