Job description

Who We Are
Spot & Tango is an innovative pet health & wellness brand delivering personalized, nutritious meals to dogs nationwide. Our recipes are developed by leading animal nutritionists and made with only real, human-grade ingredients-never anything artificial. We have lofty goals (to make every dog healthier and every pet parent happier), and we're building a best-in-class brand to match. This is an opportunity to join a VC-backed, high-growth e-commerce startup and have an outsized creative impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Plus, you get to think about dogs all day
Who You Are
As a Social Content Producer at Spot & Tango, you'll bring our brand to life through video that earns attention in a crowded feed. This is a heavily edit-focused role with some shooting mixed in. You're most at home in the edit but can pick up a camera when the moment calls for it. You have a strong eye for storytelling and the instincts to shape raw footage into polished, on-brand paid social work that feels intentional and unmistakably ours.
You know what performs on paid social, stay current on emerging formats, and can flex creatively without losing sight of brand voice. You're at home when the brief is broad one day and highly specific the next.
You'll report to the Creative Director and partner day-to-day with a close team of creatives and marketers.
Responsibilities
  • Edit and produce video content across social (TikTok, Instagram, Meta, YouTube) and web, and TV (linear and streaming/CTV) - with a primary focus on paid ads and occasional shooting as needed
  • Partner with the creative and growth marketing teams to bring video concepts to life, from quick-turn social trends to evergreen brand content and integrated campaigns
  • Write scripts, hooks, storyboards, and on-screen copy for YouTube, paid social, and beyond - tight, attention-grabbing, and built around clear performance goals
  • Produce YouTube content across both Shorts and long-form formats, tailoring edits to match each format's pacing and viewer expectations
  • Edit with intent, thinking strategically about acquisition and retention as a subscription brand, and applying platform best practices around hooks, pacing, and CTAs
  • Source, organize, and capture footage from multiple inputs, including UGC, b-roll libraries, and licensed stock video and music, ensuring usage rights are cleared and quality stays consistent
  • Iterate quickly based on feedback and performance data, shipping multiple versions tailored to different platforms and audiences

Requirements
  • 3-5 years editing video, with a portfolio spanning playful and polished social and web work
  • Deep fluency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, CapCut, and native in-app editors across TikTok, Instagram, and Meta
  • Familiarity with Figma, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Strong copywriting instincts for hooks, scripts, captions, and on-screen text
  • Working knowledge of stock and music licensing (Artlist, Epidemic Sound, Musicbed, Pond5) and a clear understanding of usage rights
  • Curiosity and hands-on interest in AI video tools - you're already experimenting and eager to fold them into your workflow
  • Comfortable in project management and review tools like Asana, Notion, and Frame.io
  • Comfortable shooting on iPhone and DSLR, with working knowledge of animation and motion graphics
  • Strong communicator and naturally curious, self-motivated, organized, and able to manage budgets and timelines across multiple projects in a fast-moving startup environment
  • Based in the New York City metro area

Nice to Haves
  • Experience with e-commerce or DTC brands
  • Studio shooting and styling experience, including lighting and backdrop setups
  • A strong graphic design sensibility
  • Pet lovers strongly encouraged (bonus points if you're a dog parent)

How to Apply
Please submit a portfolio of recent video work, including paid social and any other relevant samples.
This is a hybrid position.
You must be able to commute into our office in Midtown Manhattan Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Spot & Tango is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
