General PurposeSupports the College Mission and serve students, employers, and the College community by delivering quality related training curriculum while maintaining classroom management and assisting students in the preparation for the Utah state Journeyman Electrician exam. Maintains a positive and productive learning environment by working collaboratively with students, staff, faculty, and College partners. Success of an instructor includes the ability to: collaborate, simplify, communicate, advocate, celebrate success, build trust, empower others, and improve the College community and its programs.
This position is part time working 2-3 nights a week from 5:00-9:30 PM Job Focus- Provides instruction, monitors progress and advises students.
- Verifies student competency achievement and maintains necessary records.
- Promotes job readiness.
- Develops, implements, and incorporates Advisory Committee input on curriculum.
- Cooperatively develops and monitors a budget.
- Upholds and enforces the policies and procedures of the Davis Applied Technology College.
- Fosters a productive learning and training environment.
- Encourages and exemplifies professionalism and good work habits.
- Maintains and implements a classroom management plan consistent with College policy.
- Interacts with students in an atmosphere of open communication.
- Nurtures partnerships.
- Works cooperatively within the College community.
- Actively participates as a team member and acts as Team Leader as assigned.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A current valid Utah State Master or Journeyman Electrician License, and minimum of six years of experience directly related to the electrical field.
- A combination of work experience and education may be used to fill this requirement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Individuals who qualify are required to meet accreditation standards relevant to the program.
- Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism with colleagues and students.
