In the theatrical rigging industry, apprenticeships in specialized trades such as stage rigging, electrical work, or scenic carpentry can lead to higher-paying roles once completed. A rigging apprentice assists with setting up and maintaining theatrical rigging systems, including hanging and adjusting scenery, lighting, and equipment. They learn to operate rigging tools, follow safety protocols, and work under the supervision of experienced riggers in a theater or stage environment.

Is 27 too old for an apprenticeship?

For an Apprentice Theatrical Rigging position, age is generally not a barrier, as apprenticeships often welcome individuals of various ages who are eager to learn technical skills like rigging, safety procedures, and equipment operation. Employers typically prioritize skills, commitment, and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment over age. Many apprenticeships are designed for career changers or those seeking to enter the industry later in life, making 27 a suitable age to start.
