In this role, you will work alongside experienced senior designers, sharpening your craft in a real-world publishing environment. This is a remote position in the U.S. with occasional travel to Nashville for in-person team gatherings. #LI-Remote 

Responsibilities
  • Lives out Lifeway's mission and values, showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
  • Design high-quality print and digital materials including book covers, interior layouts, and packaging using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Collaborate with editors, copywriters, senior graphic designers, and production designers to understand project goals and bring creative concepts to life
  • Prepare and package files for print and digital distribution, ensuring accuracy and adherence to technical specifications
  • Assist senior designers with production design work, learning industry best practices along the way
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing creative quality with deadlines and practical constraints
  • Apprentice with senior design professionals to grow in skill, responsibility, and design maturity
  • Participate in team reviews and feedback sessions to continually refine work and elevate the quality of deliverables
  • Limited travel required, often overnight (2-4 annually), additional travel requirements may be involved for certain roles
Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience, required

Masters degree, preferred

Advanced graduate degree (PhD, etc.), not required

Skills, Knowledge, & Experiences, required

  • 1+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in publishing or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, and visual hierarchy
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Adaptability and a coachable, growth-oriented mindset
  • Ability to prepare and preflight files for both print and digital distribution
