The Water Quality Technician responsibilities include testing the pool water to ensure levels are up to standard and ensuring pool cleanliness. We are currently looking for a:
Lake Compounce - Seasonal Water Quality Technician
Roles & Responsibilities:
The Water Quality Technician responsibilities include testing the pool water to ensure levels are up to standard and ensuring pool cleanliness. This position also monitors the operation of pool pumps and filters to ensure that the park maintains clean and safe water attractions for our guests to enjoy.
This is an ideal opportunity for anyone interested in water treatment, the mechanical trades, engineering, chemistry, biology & environmental sciences, or the amusement & hospitality industries. If you just really like pools as much as we do, that works too!
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Work safely around all assigned pools and related buildings to perform a variety of maintenance-related tasks
  • Maintain correct water levels in each pool
  • Test pool water to ensure levels are up to standard.
  • Ensure pool cleanliness are up to regulatory standards
  • Record data being collected during water testing
  • Monitor the operation of pool pumps and filters
  • Keep pool buildings safe, clean, stocked & organized
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Equivalent work experience will also be considered
  • 1+ years previous work experience at a waterpark, swimming pool, or other aquatics-related facility is a plus

Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Connecticut Child Labor Laws
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, open to close
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude and ability to utilize a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and effective manner

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods of time
  • Ability to remain on feet for majority of the workday
  • Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to consistently use hands to grasp, control, move objects/tools
  • Ability to see differences between colors and brightness
  • Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away

Working Conditions:
  • Frequent exposure to water and pool cleaning chemicals
  • Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
  • Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, vibrations, motorized equipment, and exposure to various chemicals and greases
  • Subject to bloodborne pathogens Proper PPE is required in these situations.
