Job description

Position Information The purpose of this classification is to assist with the development and maintenance of various policies for the Cobb County Sheriff's Office. Essential Functions Assists in development and recommendation of policy updates and revisions for assigned department. Builds and maintains organizational charts of assigned department.

Reviews changes in various federal, state and local codes; Conducts research, develops, and monitors new or changing legislation for potential policy implications on behalf of the assigned department. Works with the management team to draft policy changes before finalizing and preparing for distribution. Performs general administrative support functions in supporting policy revisions, such as updating policies on the internal website for employee access, filing, and other methods of distribution.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; supplemented by one year of experience with policy analysis. Physical Abilities Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).

Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or work station. Sensory Requirements Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.

Environmental Factors Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, hazardous materials, fire, unsafe structures, heights, confined spaces, machinery, electric currents, toxic agents, animal/wildlife attacks, animal/human bites, water hazards, violence, disease, or rude/irate customers.
