Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Casino Host creates and delivers a world class gaming and entertainment experience for our casino guests at Rio Las Vegas. With your rare combination of strong mind and gentle heart, you'll delight colleagues and customers while facilitating a safe, fun, and fair gaming experience that differentiates us from the competition.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Serve as the main and primary point of contact for higher value casino guests for all things Dreamscape - Rio Las Vegas.
  • Develops and sustains relationships with casino guests.
  • Introduces new casino guests to the casino property.
  • Acts as a resource for guests, management, and employees to ensure a maximum level of satisfaction and service throughout the department and the casino.
  • Dispenses high-end amenities to qualified guests, following comp guidelines.
  • Dispenses complimentary amenities to guests who have attained the necessary levels of play while following departmental standards for profitability.
  • Responsible for obtaining and managing all reservations for guests to attend various on-premise casino functions (tournaments, giveaways, concerts, parties, etc....) including transportation and hotel stays.
  • Represents the casino at on and off property events.
  • Works to reactivate inactive casino guests through direct contact (mail, telephone, personal visits, etc.).
  • Receive and utilize marketing lists to outbound call/email customers in hopes of winning their business.
  • Partners with other members of the Casino Marketing team and with other departments to identify VIP guests.
  • Assists VIP guests with casino credit and special reservations.
  • Resolves guest complaints and/or conflicts.
  • Facilitates the effective management of information throughout the department and casino.
  • Ensure all guest information in our database is accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain confidentiality of both guest information and the integrity of Rio database information.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of casino facility, as well as current and upcoming special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow employees, whenever possible.
  • Exhibit a commitment to responsible gaming and the responsible service of alcohol in our premises.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned/required.
  • Assist in training new Casino Marketing employees on Standard Operating procedures, IT platforms and departmental philosophies.
  • Responsible for complying with Title 31 and AML/SARC compliance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English in one-on-one, small group, and large group settings.
  • Skill in developing, leading, and maintaining guest relations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with management and other employees.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including nights / holidays / weekends.
  • Pleasant personality, team oriented and enjoys working with and assisting people.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees at all levels, guests, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to master the property's player tracking and reservation systems.
  • Title 31/SARC knowledge.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency
  • Must be at least 21 years old.

PREFERRED
  • One + years' experience in a casino host or similar role (telemarketing, host assistance, VIP services, butler, casino inside sales).
  • Proficiency with IGT/Patron Management systems, Opera, Outlook and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of multiple languages highly desired.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 20 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
