An Amada Programmer is responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs for Amada machines, which are commonly used for sheet metal fabrication. Amada Programmers are primarily responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs for Amada punch presses and laser cutting machines based on production orders and engineering drawings. They work closely with production and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues, ensure part quality, and suggest improvements in manufacturing processes. Routine tasks also include reviewing blueprints, setting up machine parameters, simulating cutting paths, and conducting first-article inspections. This role may also involve adjusting programs on the shop floor and providing technical support to machine operators as needed.

To thrive as an Amada Programmer, you need a solid understanding of CNC programming, sheet metal fabrication processes, and blueprint reading, often supported by experience or training in mechanical or manufacturing engineering. Familiarity with Amada software (such as AP100 or Dr.ABE), AutoCAD, and knowledge of machine operation and safety standards are crucial.
