Job description

Grow Your Craft with Ashley Furniture Role: Industrial Mechatronics Maintenance Specialist

Picture a typical shift: you arrive on the floor, scan CMMS work orders, and head straight to a CNC cell that tripped overnight. A robotic arm paused mid-cycle, a VFD is faulted, and production is waiting. You trace the issue through ladder logic on an Allen‑Bradley controller, verify a failed sensor against the schematic, swap the part, and validate the fix on the HMI. Before lunch, you’re lubricating a gearbox on a conveyor, tightening a chain, and checking 480V motor controls. By afternoon, you’re coordinating with production to slot a planned downtime window and closing out your repair notes with crisp documentation. It’s hands-on, it’s systems-level thinking, and it directly keeps our manufacturing engines running.

What You’ll Handle
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults across conveyors, automated machinery, CNC equipment, robotics, and material handling systems.
  • Use electrical schematics, PLC logic, mechanical drawings, and test gear to pinpoint root causes and implement lasting fixes.
  • Execute preventive maintenance schedules: inspect, lubricate, adjust, and replace critical components.
  • Work confidently on 120V–480V systems including motor controls, VFDs, sensors, relays, contactors, and control panels.
  • Service hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, drives, and other power‑transmission elements.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs and HMIs; interface with building automation systems as needed.
  • Respond rapidly to breakdowns to cut downtime and restore equipment performance.
  • Document repairs, PM activities, and equipment history accurately in our CMMS.
  • Champion safety: follow LOTO, OSHA requirements, and Ashley’s safety standards every time.
  • Partner with production to plan maintenance during downtime and keep leaders informed on status.
Must-Have Qualifications
  • Technical degree/certification in Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related (Associate’s preferred).
  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Expert troubleshooting on 480V three‑phase systems with a strong safety mindset.
  • Mechanical know‑how with hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, and heavy industrial machinery.
  • PLC competency: read ladder logic and troubleshoot platforms such as Allen‑Bradley or Siemens.
  • Blueprint fluency: interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and P&IDs.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check and drug screening
Preferred
  • Journeyman Electrician License or comparable credential.
  • VFD setup, programming, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Welding/fabrication for repairs and modifications.
  • Hands-on robotics experience with industrial robots and automation cells.
  • CMMS proficiency for work order management.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma exposure with a continuous improvement mindset.
