Job description

OVERVIEWCache County is looking for a Seasonal Administrative Assistant to join the Tax Administration team. We are looking to fill two part-time positions (one morning and one afternoon). The Administrative Assistant will assist the Tax Administration Supervisor in performing various entry-level complex clerical and secretarial duties needed to expedite the office's processes and statutory obligations.RESPONSIBILITIESCreate a systematic approach to organizing work papers. Use a logical folder structure on a computer or a physical filing system that allows easy retrieval and reference. Ensure work papers contain all the necessary information for the task or project.Assist with various forms of property tax relief by providing accurate information, researching property records, and determining applicant eligibility.Receives and processes Board of Equalization property value appeals by responding to inquiries from property owners and other stakeholders regarding property assessments and valuation methods. Provide clear explanations of assessment processes, guidelines, and potential avenues for appeal.Collaborate with colleagues and superiors to address property owner concerns and provide accurate information.Assist in the preparation of assessment roll documents and other official reports as required by the BOE or other relevant authorities. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation: The ideal candidate for the Administrative Assistant will have a high school diploma or GED and one year of administrative assistant experience.Knowledge: The Administrative Assistant will have a basic knowledge of personal computer operations and various data and word processing applications, including Microsoft Office. Considerable knowledge of alpha and numeric office machines and filing systems; standard office practices and procedures related to filing and record keeping. The Administrative Assistant will have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, professionals, fellow employees, and members of the public is essential. The successful candidate will have the ability to meet deadlines on time by working efficiently and accurately, along with the ability to work independently and as a team.SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Cache County is an equal opportunity employer.
