Pastor at Williamsburg Alliance Church
Williamsburg, PA
Full-time
Posted 11 days ago
Job description
Williamsburg Alliance Church is a family-centered congregation of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, rooted in Williamsburg, Pennsylvania since 1926. From its beginnings in the upstairs of a hardware store to the campus it occupies today, this has been a church that grows as its people grow — “called to build each other up in love.”
About 100 people gather for worship on a typical Sunday, with a congregation that skews toward families: roughly half have children at home. The church is known in its community for vibrant children's ministries — Awana and VBS — a strong heart for missions, and a habit of caring for people through every season, from a frozen-meal ministry to a Widow & Widower outreach.
The congregation is praying for its next senior pastor following the retirement of Dr. Paul Campbell, who served faithfully for more than 27 years. What follows is their own profile — the church's history, ministries, values, facilities, and hopes — prepared prayerfully by the board to help the right shepherd find them.
Church History
When and how the church began, and the road that led here.
Williamsburg CMA was founded in 1926. The church first met in the upstairs of the Metz Hardware building. From there it moved to a church on East 3rd Street, and then — outgrowing that space — to an empty church on West 2nd Street. While there, the congregation built its present church building on five acres. An additional five acres was purchased in 2012. The Community Life Center was added and completed in 2018, and a children's playground was completed on the property in 2026.
Pastoral leadership
Pastor Paul Campbell served the congregation faithfully and retired in the spring of 2026 after 27 years of ministry.
Our local church landscape
Other churches within a five-mile radius include Grace Pointe, Clappertown CMA, Fairview Brethren, Royer United Methodist, Independent Bible Baptist, the Catholic Church, Living Water Church, and Yellow Springs Mennonite. The congregation estimates that 75–80% of the surrounding community is unchurched.
Ministry
Our mission, our worship, and the convictions that shape us.
“Our mission is the same mission that Jesus gave to His followers: ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.’ We are called to build each other up in love, and hope to be more mature in that calling in five years. As our congregation matures, so will our ministries.”

Property & Facilities
A well-kept campus on ten acres, built for ministry and community.
The church building:
The current worship center was built in 1998. The Community Life Center, completed in 2018, houses a gymnasium with a capacity of 297 and carries roughly two years remaining on its mortgage. The sanctuary seats 275. The campus includes 11 classrooms, a pastor's study, an additional office, two nurseries, four restroom facilities, and a kitchen — a total building footprint of 17,370 sq. ft., with 240 parking spaces and a children's playground.
Parsonage, property & indebtedness:
The parsonage, located in the borough of Williamsburg, has a basement and two stories: three bedrooms, an upstairs bath, central air and a heat pump, a kitchen and dining room, a small back yard, and street access. The worship center sits on a 10 acre lot. Apart from approximately two years remaining on the Community Life Center mortgage, the church is debt free.
Pastoral Expectations
The prior pastor, and the shepherd we are praying toward.
Previous pastor — tenure, ending & what we learned Dr. Paul Campbell served for 27.5 years, departing in March 2026 for extended family needs and semi-retirement.
How we want our next pastor to spend his time Ranked from 1 (most time) to 9 (least time).
- Prayer and Bible study
- Shepherding (caring for the congregation)
- Preaching
- Disciple-making
- Evangelism
- World missions
- Counseling
- Lay-leadership development
- Administration (church business
Personality & Leadership Style
A leader and encourager, people-oriented; Christ-led and a strong shepherd — more of a Barnabas. Why? “Christ calls His church to love, and calls leaders to guide His church in this.”
First Year & Support
Open to God's choosing — to His agenda in all matters. He should first focus on his own growth and walk with the Lord. The elder / governing board is committed to supporting our pastor's ministry to the utmost of its ability.
Finances
Stewardship, giving history, and the shape of compensation.
Financial decision-making & giving pattern:
The governing board makes all financial decisions, but congregational input is highly valued.
Pastoral compensation framework:
The church is open to either a salary or a freewill-giving platform. A parsonage or housing allowance is available, and retirement and health insurance are options to discuss. (Specific compensation details will be discussed in the interview process and follow District guidelines.)
Assessment of Pastoral Leadership Needs
The three things that matter most.
- Preaching — God's Word unashamedly, with no input from worldly values.
- People-loving.
- Obedience — natural talent is a low priority, as God has repeatedly used untalented individuals for great works as they are obedient to Him.
The pastor our congregation is praying for:
“A man who is seeking God's own heart; working to lead people to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Down to earth, seeing all people as equal in God's sight. He will work at being a loving discipler and mentor of the congregation."
The opportunity before our next pastor:
A unified, working church. We are maturing in love and will support whatever our Lord Jesus Christ desires through our next pastor. We see doors opening to community outreach, to raising our children in godly ways, and to working with our Lord to promote His ministry in and through our next pastor. We are open to new ministries.
As We Seek God's Direction
Thank you for taking the time to read through our profile, and for prayerfully considering whether God may be calling you to serve among us. What you have read is our honest picture — where we have come from, who we are today, and the places we long to grow.
We are a unified congregation, maturing in love and open to all the Lord desires to do in and through us. As you have read and prayed, know that we are praying too — asking God for a shepherd after His own heart, and trusting Him to make His direction clear for all of us.
May the Lord guide your steps as He guides ours, that together we might make Him known. We would be honored to have you pray with us as we seek His leading.
